Lynette and I got married on June 06,2008 in Manti Utah. It is about 10 minutes south of where we met in Ephraim UT almost 8 years ago. We studdied (rather she studdied) Human Anatomy together and after the semester was over we parted ways. I admit I wondered periodically over the next few years about her always hoping that she was still single but never believing myself.
She came through my check out line at work and that was all I needed (plus some serious divine intervention). We dated for seven months and I proposed. We had a short courtship and got married in June. So my family got to spend their "Summer Vacation" helping with the wedding. The wedding was great and we had to opportunity to have Lynettes grandfather Seal us. The ceremony was touching and of course personalized.
We went to sunny Southern California on our Honeymoon. We hit up Disneyland, California Adventure Theme Park, Universal Studios, and San Diego. We got the opportunity to attend the San Diego Temple and had a wonderful time enjoying that particular House Of The Lord.
We came back and found the joy of discovering what married life is all about (and we have a lot more discovering to do). We got settled and got to go back to work and to a normal life. It was nice not having to drive to my apt. or watch Nett drive off into the night. And I discovered some cool stuff about marriage. We love ice cream. We love food and Nett can cook!!!
The most important thing I learned is that we are in this for a long haul and needed to get our bearings together pretty quick. And we have. We are on the same page on the important things like finances, career goals and most importantly family. The more we talked about family the more we wanted ours to grow.
So in her own little way Nett tried to figure out how to tell me she was pregnant. And she did well until she tried using subtle hints. I actually caught this one (a first for males) and I turned the tables on her not letting her know I knew. So in the end she told me and I told her I know and she got mad at me for not telling her that I knew. I cannot begin to describe my feelings about the future of parenthood. I am a guy and my emotional range has increased but the ability to interpret that increase has not evolved as fast.
So now our family is begining. A new begining.
